LIGHT AND PEACE MUSEUM
The Peace and Light Museum and Exhibition was a comprehensive Design & Build project, covering an area of 1,980 sqm. This complex endeavor involved a full spectrum of base build work, extensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) installations, and a diverse array of fit-out elements. The project was managed across 13 distinct construction packages, each focused on delivering specialized aspects of the overall design and construction.
Key Features:
AV Integration: The museum features a state-of-the-art Audio-Visual (AV) system, incorporating high-end AV hardware, linear films, and film production. Additionally, UI software was developed to enhance user interaction, complemented by cutting-edge projection mapping that brings the exhibits to life.
Artifacts & Exhibits: The project included the acquisition of a wide range of artifacts and collections, each requiring meticulous attention to mounting strategies. Bespoke custom-made showcases and physical models were designed and fabricated to highlight the unique aspects of each piece, ensuring that they are displayed in a secure and visually appealing manner.
Project Significance: This project showcases a blend of advanced technical integration with the delicate handling of cultural artifacts, resulting in an immersive and highly engaging museum experience. The combination of innovative AV technology, intricate construction detailing, and a unique approach to exhibition design has made this project stand out as a model of modern museum development. MEP Systems Integration
The MEP scope is a critical component of the museum’s infrastructure, involving high-spec climate control, ventilation, and electrical systems tailored to the preservation needs of historical artifacts and sensitive AV hardware.
AV Hardware & Data Center Management
- Overseeing server rooms and networked AV infrastructure, ensuring seamless content delivery to high-resolution displays, large-format projectors, and interactive exhibits.
- Coordinating the installation and commissioning of AV control systems, including show control, synchronization, and automation for timed experiences.
- Managing acoustic treatments and spatial audio systems, ensuring clear, immersive soundscapes that enhance storytelling.
Showcase Engineering & Exhibit Integration
The showcases within the museum must meet stringent conservation standards while providing unobstructed visibility and interactivity. My responsibilities include:
- Ensuring custom-designed showcases meet museum-grade specifications, including temperature and humidity stabilization, integrated lighting, and security features.
- Overseeing mechanized display cases for rotating or interactive exhibits, requiring precision engineering and seamless automation.
- Coordinating with conservation specialists to implement low-reflectivity glass, non-intrusive lighting, and air-tight sealing for sensitive artifacts.
Fit-Out & Gallery Coordination
Managing the fit-out for the galleries involves balancing aesthetic design with technical functionality. My work includes:
- Ensuring material selection and fabrication aligns with both museum standards and the architectural vision.
- Overseeing the installation of exhibition structures, including large-scale scenic elements and thematic environments.
Coordinating with specialists for interactive media installations, projection mapping, and digital interfaces that enhance visitor engagement.
Through my role, I ensure that the technical execution aligns with the museum’s vision, delivering a seamless integration of technology, infrastructure, and design to create an unparalleled cultural and educational experience.
